What to expect when reaching out for Counselling with Kirsteen
Counselling online is a convenient and effective way to support any struggles you are experiencing in your own private space. This also works for telephone counselling if it is suitable. If local to St Helens Merseyside, face to face in-person sessions are available.
We learn about your unique mental health struggles and understand how your mental illness can be improved for a better quality of life
Once you make contact we can book in for a free 20 minute consultation to see if I am the right choice for you, after this we can arrange our first session
I work to suit you, so weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as and when sessions are all possible
Once agreed you will receive confirmation of our session with a link for meeting online or details of our location for face to face, along with this will be our working agreement which covers what to expect plus payment and cancellation policy
We will spend 50 - 60 minutes together during our sessions and book in each time for the next one. If working online please choose a place that is private where you can relax in a quiet space

What to Expect
1
Online Counselling
Video call sessions via 'what's app' can be a great option, if you have a laptop, tablet or mobile phone and privacy. Staying in the comfort of your own home saves the anxiety of ‘other people’ and saves travelling time. However, if being at home is not the best option for you, leaving the house with your phone and some headphones to attend the video call in a safe place or on the move can also work.
2
Private Room
Traditional one to one, face to face counselling in a private room. The ideal setting in a private and counselling environment that fulfills confidentiality in a relaxed atmosphere.
3
Phone Call
Maximum accessibility for those who need it. Potentially less effective due to the lack of visual and physical cues, but still a viable option in combination with face-to-face and video call as a means of maintaining consistency
